Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., MD (R-LA) has introduced HR 3776, the Stark Administrative Simplification Act. The bill would amend Title XVIII of the Social Security Act “to create alternative sanctions for technical noncompliance with the Stark rule under Medicare.”  The bill was referred to the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees.  Boustany’s bill is cosponsored by Representatives Larry Bucshon (R-IN), Ron Kind, (D-WI), and Marc Veasey (D-TX). HR 3776 specifies single civil monetary penalties that do not exceed specified limits, and allows for voluntary disclosures of technical noncompliance.es
