Emerson Network Power’s Liebert PSI uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system provides reliable and economical line-interactive backup power protection for smaller IT spaces, including network closets, IT rooms and home offices. The Liebert PSI gives users five minutes of battery backup at full load, as well as the ability to remotely monitor and shut down connected equipment via Liebert MultiLink software. The UPS is rack/tower convertible and is available in 1,000 VA, 1,500 VA, 2,200 VA and 3,000 VA in 120-V and 230-V models.
Motorola has released two additions to its enterprise-class 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) SMART Branch portfolio – the dual-radio AP650 802.11n access point and the RFS4000 802.11n integrated services controller with an optional integrated dual-radio 802.11n access point (AP). SMART Branch offers the ability to run troubleshooting, spectrum analysis and intrusion prevention from any AP in the network, so IT can improve user support, network visibility and security. Motorola’s SMART Branch portfolio includes WLAN, management and complementary solutions, allowing remote IT departments to operate as if they have an IT expert at every branch.
Tripp Lite has developed its latest line of SmartOnline Single-Phase UPS Systems to incorporate an economy-mode function. The SmartOnline Series, from 1,000-16,000 VA, has an efficiency rating of up to 97 percent, leading to less heat in data centers, lower energy consumption and savings in both cooling and energy costs. The UPS throttles power consumption by changing operating modes automatically. Hot-swappable modular models can be fully serviced and including complete replacement.
TippingPoint’s N-Platform is an intrusion-prevention system platform with a threat-suppression engine that adds significant capacity for deep-packet traffic inspection. The N-Platform enables the integration of multiple network-protection services and provides organizations with the security automation required to help reduce total cost of security and ensure business continuity. The N-Platform was developed to help customers meet the broad security demands of the new data center.
Intersystems has introduced several technology additions to its CACHÉ high-performance object database. The new features provide enhanced reporting, Web services security, and system management and monitoring. Major enhancements include: built-in reporting that eliminates reliance on expensive external reporting tools; superior system management; and Web services security, extending support for the WS-Security 1.1 standard. InterSystems’ implementation of WS-Security 1.1 enables development of Web services, while ensuring standard adherence. Critical security features are implemented – including digital signatures, key encryption, creation of X.509 certificates and security assertion markup language assertion tokens. InterSystems
