Full Color Printer

The LX400 Color Label Printer is an inkjet-based printer from Primera Technology that prints full-color photos as well as medical and bar-code labels on semi-gloss and high-gloss paper and polyester. With a maximum 4800 dpi resolution, the waterproof and scratchproof labels can be generated in sizes from .75 inches in width and length to a maximum of 4 inches wide and 24 inches long. NiceLabel SE software with common bar codes, Primera label design software, full-color ink cartridge and a sample roll of high-gloss paper label stock are included. Printer drivers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista, in addition to Mac OS X version 10.2 and higher, are included with USB interface connection for both PC and Mac. A media cutter accessory is optional.

Rugged Portable Printer

The Extech Data Systems Andes 3 portable printer is intended for harsh outdoor environments and is part of the company’s Generation 4 series printers. The 3-inch printer has an integrated ST Microelectronics 32 bit micro controller with 4 MB flash and 1 MB SRAM memory, field programmable CPU with firmware, resident fonts, rotated fonts, downloadable fonts, graphics, multiple logos and bar codes. The Seiko thermal print head can perform at a rate of 2 inches per second at high resolution. Voltage and paper-out functions are monitored by built-in detectors, while either an AC power adapter or Lithium Ion battery cartridge can supply power. Text Enhancement Scanner

The DR-4010C high-speed color scanner is the latest addition to the DR scanner line from Canon and features the ability to process up to 42 pages or 84 images per minute. Long-range Bar-code Scanner

The AS-8310 CCD bar-code scanner from Argox is a long-range scanner that features a 2048 pixel CCD optical system with 600 millimeter scan depth and 160 millimeter scan width. Scaleable Multi-function Printer

The WorkCentre 4150 multifunction printer from Xerox is a business-scaleable all-in-one unit that can copy, print, fax and scan to e-mail. Standard features include automatic two-sided copying and printing with 600 x 600 dpi resolution at up to 45 pages per minute. New C and E Series Printers

Lexmark International has added a new C530 series color laser printer as well as new monochrome E series laser printers to its line. The C series offers two-sided or one-sided color printing capabilities for small enterprises and an additional model offering two-sided printing along with increased paper handling and cartridge options. The C534 color laser printers feature greater memory, accommodates a 7,000-page color toner cartridge, network setup, a USB port for printing PDF and image files from a USB flash drive and a ten-digit numeric pad for confidential printing. The Monochrome E250d and E250dn have two-sided printing as standard with a capability of up to 30 pages-per-minute, while the latter also incorporates networking capability as a standard feature. The E350d has an LCD display, prints up to 35 pages per minute and accommodates a 9,000-page aftermarket toner cartridge, while the E352dn includes networking capability. The Lexmark E450dn has an 11,000-page capacity aftermarket toner cartridge, a graphical user interface and enhanced security features. All of the models support Microsoft’s Windows Vista platform.

The Stylus CX7000F from Epson is the company’s newest and most affordable all-in-one printer, scanner, copier and fax product. Featuring DURABrite Ultra ink for smudge, water and fade resistance, the CX7000F produces vibrant prints on plain paper. Faxes can be sent and received in both color and B&W at up to three seconds per page with the 33.6 kbps built-in modem. IImage Enhancement Scanner

The fi-4860C2 VRS color/monochrome scanner from Fujitsu comes bundled with VirtualReScan 4.1 (VRS) automated document image-enhancement software, Adrenaline 650i SCSI interface boards and cable. VRS circuitry turns documents with colored backgrounds or shaded areas into highly legible monochrome images, deletes blank pages, rotates images for uniform orientation and suppresses background noise and gradation for cleaner images with a smaller file size. The scanner also has a 500-page automatic document feeder that handles paper sizes ranging from 3 inches square to 11 inches by 17 inches. Mixed batches of differing paper weights, sizes, colors and shades can be scanned, while an optional thin paper kit enables feeding papers that are thicker than standard. The pre- and post-imprinter option allows printing on both sides of a document and the dual-color CCD (Charge Coupled Device) arrays enable scanning of both sides of a page simultaneously. Users can scan 63 pages-per-minute (ppm) at the maximum 400 dpi resolution and 125 ppm at 200 dpi in color, grayscale or monochrome.
